Our second-ever AICN webinar touched on nature-related risks and opportunities for corporates, with guest speaker Dr. Lahiru Wijedasa, Asia Forest Coordinator, BirdLife International providing in-depth analysis regarding the deterioration of nature and its impact on strategic risk management. Dr. Tabitha Hui, Associate Director, Sustainability Services, AICN, CGS International was also present to moderate this highly insightful discussion.

We held our first ASEAN Institute of Carbon Neutrality (AICN) webinar, featuring guest speaker Dr David Broadstock, Senior Research Fellow and Lead Energy Transition, Sustainable and Green Finance Institute, National University of Singapore. The webinar explored the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), addressing the complexities of early coal phase-outs, highlighting financial solutions that balance environmental impact with social equity, such as green bonds. Dr Broadstock shared, “Decarbonisation is no longer tomorrow’s problem. It is a here and now challenge, a ‘just’ energy transition is perhaps the most critical step. Kevin W F Lee, Group Head of Sustainability at CGS International Securities Group, expressed, “When you talk about ‘just transitions’, it is addressing community livelihoods, energy affordability, biodiversity as well as other environmental and social aspects when the energy transition takes place.” Stay tuned for more insights and join us for our next AICN webinar!
