You might have heard this joke -

"Who led the digital transformation of your company?"

Undoubtedly, the Covid-19 pandemic has caused an upheaval in many people's lives but has also led us into changing some of our usual ways of doing things. Companies are forced to adopt newer technologies such as teleconferencing as employees start working from home.  E-commerce has also played an important role in this new normal as we see more people turning to e-commerce platforms to shop for their needs.

As an investor, how can you still invest during these turbulent times while diversifying your risk? Which sectors are booming and how can you capitalize on these investment opportunities?

CGS International, in collaboration with two other asset management firms, CSOP Asset Management and Nikko Asset Management, will take you through this exciting 3-part webinar series and share with you some of the potential investment opportunities in the internet, e-gaming and 5G sectors.

Part II –  Interview with CSOP AM: A New Normal, A New Economy
24/09/2020 | 7.00pm - 8.00pm

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world. Since the lows in March, the big recovery has mainly occurred in the new economy – technology and biotechnology.

In 2009, Shenzhen Stock Exchange launched the ChiNext board which has been referred to as “China’s NASDAQ”, attracting innovative growth-oriented Chinese firms including many high-tech companies. Since then, the ChiNext Board has grown significantly over the last 10 years, and today comprises 851 listings^ with a total market cap of over RMB 9 trillion^, representing nearly a quarter of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

The US-China trade war has also spurred the partial return of US-listed Chinese companies back to Asia, and the HK equity market is embracing them. In July 2020, the HS Tech Index was launched to meet investor demand for growth stocks, a much-needed complement to the financial- and property-heavy HSI index, and to reflect the growth in this sector.

In Part II of our webinar series hosted by Market Strategist Jake Chow, he will be interviewing our invited guest speaker, Adrian Chew, from CSOP Asset Management to discuss:

• Market outlook of China in 2H of 2020
• Major trends and Chinese government policies driving the Chinese A-Share Market and ChiNext Board.
• The overview and future of the HS Tech Index

Part III –  Interview with Nikko AM: The Rise of Multi-Billion Dollar Industry, Internet & Electronic-Gaming
01/10/2020 | 7.00pm - 8.00pm

The global internet sector is one of the most compelling investment themes today. It sits at the intersection of 3 three major trends – e-Commerce, social networking, and the Internet of Things or IOT. It is also the melting pot of future technologies from payments to autonomous vehicles. A powerful force that has changed our lives today, it will continue to shape that of our children. More than often not, the developments are broad-based, rapid, and difficult to understand. Investors frequently ask how they can best invest in the technology, and we think a globally diversified portfolio of the strongest internet companies could be the best way to capture exposure.

On 16 June 2020, Nikko Asset Management launched Asia’s first equity Active ETF in Hong Kong and holds 30 to 50 high conviction stock ideas from within the global electronic games sector. The sector enjoys several long term tailwinds such as a diverse and growing gamer base, developments in associated hardware and software technologies, and significant monetization opportunities.

In Part III of our webinar series also hosted by Jake Chow, tune in to his interview with our guest speaker, Calvin Neo from Nikko Asset Management as they discuss:

• Introduction to Thematic ETFs and Nikko AM Global Internet ETF
• iEdge-Factset Global Internet Index methodology
• Major trends driving the Global Internet Universe
